Thirty‑two years ago, I stood before family and friends and promised to love, honour, and cherish. It was the beginning of a journey that gave me 18 wonderful years of marriage, built on nine years of love before that. Together, we raised two incredible children, built a home filled with laughter (and some not-so-funny moments), and even started a business or two.
Life gave us joy, challenges, and countless memories. And then, far too soon, cancer stole him from us. His absence is felt every day, but his memory lives on, in our children, in the lessons we shared, and in the love that shaped me.
A Tribute in Every Ceremony
SAY I Do is, in part, a tribute to that marriage. It’s a way of honouring the vows we made, the life we built, and the belief that marriage is worth celebrating deeply. Every ceremony I craft carries a piece of that legacy, the understanding that love is both fragile and powerful, ordinary and extraordinary.
Why I Believe in Marriage
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside many couples in marriage preparation and counselling. I’ve seen the nervous excitement before the vows, the quiet strength in partnerships, and the joy of building a life together.
I believe in marriage because I’ve lived it — its beauty, its challenges, its resilience. I know that a ceremony is more than words; it’s a promise, a foundation, and a celebration of hope. The wedding is but a single day, but the commitment is so much more.
Looking Forward
Though my own journey took an unexpected turn, I carry forward the lessons of love, commitment, and partnership. SAY I Do is not just a service, it’s a celebration of what marriage can mean. It’s about helping couples create ceremonies that reflect their story, their values, and their dreams.
Because when you say “I do,” you’re not just agreeing to a day. You’re stepping into a lifetime. And that deserves to be honoured with warmth, authenticity, and heart.
Thirty‑two years ago, I said “I do.” Today, I still do — to love, to hope, to the belief that marriage matters. And through SAY I Do, I get to help others begin their own unforgettable journeys.
